Assist in developing work plans. Assign daily tasks and supervise performance of subordinate student technicians. Specific Responsibilities Work Schedule Between the hours of 8am and 4:30pm Desired Start Date 08/19/2024 Open Date 08/14/2024 Close Date 08/21/2024 Required Relevant Education & Experience High School diploma or GED Required Field(s) of Study N/A Preferred Relevant Education and Experience At least one year of student technician experience with ISU's OIT Department or have sufficient previous telecommunications technician experience. Supervisory Responsibilities Has authority or responsibility for the supervision of student workers or graduate assistants only. Requires climbing ladders up to 12 feet high; lifting 30-50 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds infrequently; pulling, pushing, reaching, stooping, crawling; good sense of balance; ability to work in confined spaces. Job Duties Essential Duties and Responsibilities Build student technician schedules. Plan, coordinate, and assign daily work tasks. Train student technicians in repair and installation techniques. Test and trouble shoot copper and fiber optic cables. Audit infrastructure to ensure record accuracy. Perform maintenance and repair of video security cameras, copper telephone circuits, data circuits, and associated cable, wiring, and electronic equipment.
