MRI, a woman-owned Technologies and Engineering Services company, has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Integration Engineer - GRAIL Lab on the JETS II Contract at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. We are excited about what we do, and we need you on our team as we take on exciting challenges for NASA's pursuits in deep space exploration. 100% Telework Remote, can be located anywhere in USA (with occasional travel to Johnson Space Center or nearest NASA center to candidates home) As a Systems Integration Engineer - GRAIL Lab you will: * Serve as a Systems Integration Engineer for the integration activities of the Gateway Ready Avionic Integration Lab (GRAIL), a critical integration effort of the Gateway Program which will return to the Moon * Collaborate with lab personnel, partners, providers, and testing stakeholders to understand interface and testing requirements * Leverage interface knowledge to ensure lab design provides the proper interfaces and fidelity to satisfy testing objectives * Uphold lab verification efforts and ensure the facility is applicable for assigned testing * Assist in lab equipment testing, troubleshooting, and debugging to ensure equipment meets requirements and is satisfactorily integrated * Uphold the strict documentation of integration processes, equipment specifications, configurations, and testing results * Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards * Provide support to lab personnel and external customers on integrated systems and their specifications * Reassess documents, policies, and procedures for future configurations of the lab * Participate and contribute to system requirements reviews, preliminary design reviews, and critical design reviews * Communicate and organize to efficiently work within a team environment * Perform other duties as required Here's What You'll Need: Requisition Qualifications: * Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering with experience in the field or in a related area * No minimum years of relevant experience in engineering or systems engineering * Troubleshooting, diagnostic, and debugging skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment * Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings * Able to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and schedules with limited supervision * Experience working in a team environment Requisition Preferences: * BS degree in Engineering from an accredited engineering school * Knowledge of Flight Hardware and/or Flight Processes/Paperwork is a plus * Experience with NASA processes is a plus Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency may be a requirement for this position. Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation. Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which this position has been advertised. Physical Requirements Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time). Equipment and Machines Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.). Attendance Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements. Other Essential Functions Professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others. As we are a Federal Contractor, most positions require the employee to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government background investigation. MRI also completes a pre-screening background check for anyone offered employment.
