Nature of Work: * Assist the Recreation Supervisor in the administration, management, and operation of recreation programs, services and facility. * Directly responsible for the overall operation of the Recreation Services in the Recreation Supervisor's absence. * Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, customer service, office administrative tasks such as management of special events, programs and rentals, POS, treasurer reports membership development, cash handling, purchasing, marketing and internal and external communications and support services for temp employees and volunteers assigned to site. * Responsibilities also including managing multiple program service set ups throughout any staff assignment that may include: moving tables, chairs, sound systems, stage systems, outdoor cinema equipment, fitness equipment and other program related equipment. Duties also include clearing snow from walkways, taking multiple filled trash receptacles to the street and occasionally mopping up spills. * Prepare senior center publicity; newsletters, seasonal brochures; develop flyers, and maintain bulletin boards. * Maintain the online senior program registration and web site. * Keep records and prepares daily, weekly, monthly, and annual statistical and administrative reports. * Prepare program schedule and develop/ maintain office calendar. Required Qualifications: * Past or comparable supervisory experience in recreation program service management * Experience with customer service, cash handling, staff supervision, and policy and procedure implementation * Must obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 30 days of employment. The City offers CPR/AED and First Aid classes, which are free to Parks employees. Please note, your certification must be from an organization that has been approved by the Bureau of Community and Health Systems, Child Care Licensing Division. Please see link for list of approved organizations. Preferred Qualifications: * Background and/or training which relates specifically to one or more of the following: Recreation Program Management, Arts and Music Management or Community Education Management or Gerontology Program Management related college degree Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job.
