The CEO ensures the continuous improvement of the community partnership and programs at the college and career academy. Additional responsibilities included but are not limited to directing the administrative, curricular and instructional services at the college and career academy for the purpose of increasing student performance and local workforce development.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Meet state and local requirements concerning fingerprints and criminal background check
Good technology, oral and written communication skills.
Ability to perform routine physical activities
Bachelor's Degree or higher in business-related field or education
Knowledge of local, state, and federal employment programs and grants
Leadership Certification or equivalent training in the private sector
Secondary School (grades 6-12) Instructional experience
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Strategic Objective I-Attaining High Student Achievement & Success
Oversee the planning, implementation and evaluation of school curricular, assessment and CTAE initiatives/programs (WBL opportunities, Dual Enrollment, pathway offerings, Technical Certificates of Credit, EOPA, & industry certifications)
Promote student success in the workforce through the incorporation of soft skills, employability skills, and financial literacy.
Ensure school decisions and policies regarding student achievement are data driven.
Ensure the improvement of student achievement for all students and sub-groups of students.
Coordinate the administration End Of Pathway Assessments (EOPA)
Ensure all CTAE programs are of high quality and are industry certified.
Oversee facilities to ensure CTAE classroom equipment is safe, operational, and meets industry standards.
Strategic Objective II-Developing Organizational Effectiveness
Recommend long-term and short-range plans for facility initiatives to the principal and superintendent
Supervise and evaluate CTAE staff following the guidelines set forth by MCS personnel guidelines
Responsible for CTAE staff induction and mentoring programs
Create annual operating plans that support strategic goals and objectives set by the Board of Directors and correlates with annual budgets
Manage assets of the non-profit organization and interacts with the business community and stakeholders to identify new sources of funding for projects and programs
Develop annual budgets that support operation plans and submits budgets for approval
Ensure that MCCCA expenditures align with improvement/strategic plan
Ensure that all school expenditures are within limits approved by the BOE and that all school funds and accounts follow proper system, state, and federal audit procedures and regulations.
Oversee school improvement/strategic plan, balanced scorecard and visual reporting initiatives
Present annual report to the Board of Directors during the first quarter of the school year
Follow and enforce school, administrative, board, state and federal rules
Work with the principal and CTAE Director to recruit, retain, and recommend CTAE staff for hire
Complete assignments and reports on time and in compliance with directions.
Strategic Objective III-Ensuring Student/Stakeholder Engagement & Loyalty
Oversee school safety, emergency and crisis planning (school safety plan and procedures)
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Collaborate with principals, superintendent, and stakeholders to define and articulate the academy's vision and to develop strategies for achieving that vision
Build workforce culture by promoting a positive working environment and exercising consistent values that reflect the organization's mission.
Work collaboratively with with post-secondary institutions, GADOE, Chamber of Commerce and community organizations while monitoring the Dual Enrollment programs and Articulation Agreements with local technical colleges, and post-secondary institutions
Assist with public presentations and other public relations activities designed to engage public and private partners
Strategic Objective IV-Professional Learning
Ensure MCCCA Board of Directors participate in required annual board training
Ensure participation in the Georgia College and Career Academy Network (GCCAN)
Ensure CTAE teachers meet workforce development needs through high-quality professional learning and externships
Use data to drive professional learning needs for CTAE teachers and MCCCA staff
Other Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Adhere to the Code of Ethics for Educators in Georgia as established by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
Exhibit pleasant behavior and project a positive image when dealing with the public, employees, parents, and students.
Meet professional dress requirements as outlined in the system personnel handbook.
Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
EVALUATION: Performance of the CEO will be evaluated by the Superintendent or Principal in accordance with the provisions of the Monroe County Board of Education policy procedures regarding evaluation of personnel.
