The CCD Counseling Center is looking for motivated and detail-oriented work studies who are skilled at customer service and passionate about student support and helping other students in need. The Counseling Center provides talk therapy to students who may be dealing with difficult life circumstances and in need of additional support. The office assistant will serve as the face of the office and provide high standards of customer support, ethical treatment, and compassion through direct contact with office visitors.Office Management & Administrative Duties - Answer phones & greet office visitors; assist with record management; connect office visitors with resources; maintain confidentiality Outreach, Education, and Activity Planning - Assist with creating & implementing activities to engage CCD members; perform outreach by tabling and/or presenting at campus events Professional Development - Serve as a peer leader and role model for the campus community; learn critical skills for reaching long-term goalThe ideal student in this position will be supportive and confidential when handling all matters of Counseling cases from the initial contact in the office. The student will be passionate about helping other students succeed by providing compassion and offering resources for those in need. In addition, the student should be able to work well with others and take initiative in handling new projects or tasks. Professionalism and strong communication skills are important.The student will become a professional in CCD's Counseling Center and will be able to effectively communicate with students and campus constituents. The student will learn crisis intervention skills & be able to handle difficult situations by supporting students of all backgrounds and life situations. They will learn to be more culturally competent & how to manage concerns from diverse communities. Arts, Communication, & Design Public, Safety, & Legal Services  Social & Behavioral Sciences  Education & Teaching This position will be great for students who have long-term career goals of serving the public and helping to support others. Students in other pathways would also benefit in this position as they will learn invaluable skills in communication, ethics, crisis management, and compassion that can transfer to any future positions.  We're so happy that you're considering a work-study position with CCD!
