Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge: A minimum of 4 years of sales experience within the Hospitality Industry is preferred. Skills and Abilities: * Ability to meet deadlines and sales goals * Ability to stay organized and multitask * Ability to adapt to last minute changes * Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and coworkers * Detail oriented * Ability to travel Special Requirements Valid Mississippi Driver License Tools and Equipment Used Event software, floor plan software, Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop or other graphic design software. Work Environment 85% of work is indoors in climate-controlled environment. 15% of work will be out of OCC for sales calls, trade shows and travel. Purpose of Position The Sales and Marketing Manager is responsible for marketing, identifying, soliciting and booking business for the Oxford Conference Center to achieve the maximum profitability. Supervision Received The immediate supervisor for this position is the Oxford Conference Center Director. Duties and Responsibilities Primary Duties: * Developing an annual sales/marketing plan and assisting in budget planning * Soliciting business through sales calls, email, and presentations for corporate and social events. Develop formal proposal packages for potential conferences * Assisting in the design and development of all marketing and sales materials including digital marking strategies and ads. * Building relationships with customers and the community to establish long term business growth * Work with web designer to keep OCC website update and current * Conducting site visits with potential clients * Representing Oxford and the OCC as a meeting destination by participating in regional trade shows * Updating all social media accounts with informational and engaging content * Analyzing sales data and keeping up to date with market trends * Developing solutions to industry challenges to maximize sales * Working closely with event staff and industry partners to ensure customer satisfaction Secondary Duties: * Updating and maintaining a current database of potential customers * Accepting and processing event payments * Manage and pay state sales taxes * Graphic design * Assisting event team when needed
