We are seeking a dedicated Transit Dispatcher to join the StarTran team within Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) - the largest department in the City of Lincoln. If you have a drive to succeed, an eye for detail, and experience in a transit system, we want to hear from you! What You'll Do: * Utilize various technologies within the Transit Dispatch Center to efficiently receive and dispatch calls for transit personnel.  * Utilize Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) software, bus camera software, paratransit scheduling software, and fixed route software to manage and monitor transit operations. * Receive and dispatch calls for transit personnel, ensuring timely and accurate communication. * Exercise judgment in following well-established procedures to handle routine and emergency situations. * Maintain accurate records and prepare reports as required. * Collaborate with transit personnel and administrative superiors to ensure the effectiveness of services provided. * Participate in conferences and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and new technologies Qualifications:  * High School Diploma/GED * One year of experience in a transit system Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities, and skills may be considered.   Necessary Special Requirement: Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and endorsement   Work Schedule: Full time, 40 hours/week.  Days/hours vary; Monday through Saturday, 6 a.m. - 10 p.m.  Shift to be bid.
