About the Job This position will deliver high-quality instruction to undergraduate students in various majors; participate in assessment of activities and pedagogy programs in the Math, Science and Technology Department; advise students; contribute to student recruitment and retention initiatives; and support research and community outreach in biology. Full-time lecturer position in Biology/Health Sciences. This is a single semester position for the Spring 2025 semester. Position starts January 6, 2025. Standard teaching load is 15 credits per semester. Short Term Semester Appointment. * Deliver high-quality undergraduate instruction to students in the Biology program. * Course topics may include, but not limited to: General Biology, Zoology, Genetics, Botany, Techniques in Molecular Biology, Senior Seminar, or other courses based on expertise. * The successful candidate may teach both lecture and laboratory sections of each course. * The candidate is also expected to contribute to departmental assessment efforts. Qualifications Required Qualifications * Master's degree in Biology, Zoology, Ecology, or related field (or a Master's degree, plus a minimum of 18 graduate credits in Biology, Zoology, Ecology, or related field) * Passion for teaching and student-centered service * Ability to relate complex concepts to diverse audiences; effective communication skills * Commitment to an experiential educational philosophy within the scope of the land-grant mission * Final job offer contingent upon complete background check and receipt of official transcripts. * This position is in-person only and is not eligible for remote work. Preferred Qualifications * Doctorate in Biology or related field * Experience/track record of seeking and successful implementing externally funded projects and grants, and a record of successful teaching at the college level.
