We are contracted with St. Croix County Mental Health and provide services for adults of any age who are classified by the State of Wisconsin as having emotional disturbance/mental illness (MH). Northwest Transitions is currently seeking to hire a part-time Mental Health Technician in its New Richmond Adult Family Home. You will work directly with our residents who are living with diverse emotional and behavioral needs to help carry out individual service plans that are tailored to help residents stabilize and integrate back into their community. Requirements: * High School Diploma or equivalent * Possess personal aptitude and life experience which demonstrates the ability to provide effective community support and emergency mental health service. In this position you will: * Assist other Northwest Transitions staff and residents in all aspects of daily living, using these as opportunities to help residents learn and work towards independency in their communities. Examples include and are not limited to: Striving to build meaningful relationships with residents defined by scope of practice, using company vehicle to transport to community activities and appointments, preparing meals, planning and leading groups targeted toward increasing skills around daily living and self care, identifying and leading recreational activities that cater towards individual interest and abilities, helping residents work through periods of emotional distress, and managing all aspects of milieu within the home. * Communicate effectively with all program staff to assure all aspects of program are implemented. * Distribute medications, making sure appropriate documentation is completed.
