At the American Red Cross, your uniqueness can shine! The American Red Cross is seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish), detail-oriented, and self-motivated marketing proofreader/copy editor. This fully remote position helps ensure marketing tactics to recruit blood donors and increase blood donor engagement are accurate, grammatically correct, and adhere to the Red Cross brand and AP Style. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: The proofreader/copy editor will: * Be responsible for proofing marketing tactics and providing Associated Press Style and Red Cross brand copy editing suggestions to cross-functional teams to engage and recruit blood donors. * Work with management to identify, develop, and implement effective monthly marketing proofing checklists to help cross-functional teams develop marketing tactics. * Serve as a resource to other staff. * Collaborate with peers to continually improve the proofreading process. WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD: * Must be fluently bilingual in English and Spanish. * Should be self-motivated - this position is fully remote. * Proven skill in copy editing/proofreading is a must. * Proven ability to manage multiple reviews and work under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail. * Demonstrated understanding of customer-focused direct marketing activities will be helpful to you in this role. WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED: * 4-year college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in communications, English or equivalent field required. * Minimum 3 years of related experience. * Demonstrated track record of copy editing and proofreading. * Proficiency with the Associated Press Stylebook, as well as English and Spanish grammar rules. * Bilingual, English and Spanish. * Highly developed verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to assimilate information quickly and manage multiple reviews simultaneously under deadlines. * Strong teamwork, collaboration, and ability to work with cross-functional teams. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required. * Must perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State, and local regulations. * Travel may be required. SALARY INFORMATION: The salary range for this position is $57,000-$70,000. Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have, and comparison to other employees already in this role.
