INTERIM POSITION FOR THE 2024-2025 ACADEMIC YEARThe Interim Director of the Center for Multicultural Life (CML) will oversee the Center and serve as a member of a broader Identity & Culture team in Student Affairs, which includes the Rachel Lord Center for Religious and Spiritual Life; the Center for Sexuality, Women, and Gender; and Upward Bound. As the leader of the CML, the Director will work collaboratively with student leaders, faculty, administrators, alumni, and community contacts to design and deliver robust and innovative programming that centers and supports students of color (including all heritage month programming). Additionally, the Director will serve as an advising resource for students of color, providing information, support, and referrals to campus and community resources as needed.The Director will also collaborate within the Identity & Culture team as well as across broader Student Affairs and campus to drive creative programming, workshops, educational trainings, and community-building events to ensure students of all backgrounds and identities feel seen, valued, and celebrated year-round. Given this, it is essential that this person demonstrates an intentional commitment to issues of social justice and inclusive excellence in addition to demonstrating a high degree of cultural competence. Education/Skills Requirements Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred in related field.The director must be collaborative, well organized, and experienced in advising, program planning and evaluation. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential. A demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment is critical. Excellent interpersonal skills, presentation and training skills and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing are necessary. Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents 5+ years experience in student affairs, with aminimum of three years of experience working with college or high school students of color in an educational setting. Commitment to and deep understanding of the concerns of multicultural students in higher education, and a strong appreciation for the diverse needs of all members of the campus community are vital. Standard Work Days and Hours Exempt: 40 hours/week, 11 months/year (.92 FTE). Schedule will vary - typical hoursMonday - Friday between 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with evening and weekend hours required.This exempt-level position requires the time commitment necessary to fulfill all of the job responsibilities.Benefits and Pay: The hiring range for this position is expected to be: $82,600 - $89,000.
