Description: Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Apprentice Electrician in the Facilities Management Department. The appointee will report directly to the Electrical Supervisor and will be responsible assisting other electricians with installations and repairs throughout the district. Qualifications: The appointee must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. The appointee must have a valid Texas drivers license and meet eligibility criteria to operate a District vehicle. Preference will be given to applicants who: * have successful work experience in the industry. * possess a general understanding of the functions of electrical systems. * possess organizational skills to maintain a clean work area and keep all working materials, tools and equipment picked up and stored as needed. * demonstrate the ability to use electrical hand tools such as drills, sawzalls, chop saws, concrete saws, jack hammers and other job related tools. * are able to work in a variety of physical environments such as confined crawl spaces and heights in excess of 100 feet. * demonstrate effective communication, public relations and interpersonal skills. * have a service oriented personality. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.
