Florida A&M University's theatre program is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for the Director, University Relations/Public Affairs - Marketing Director/Content Creator vacancy. We are looking for a prolific and talented Marketing Director/Content Creator to build, manage, and grow our marketing strategy and brand; write and design various types of print and digital media content; promote the sale of tickets to productions; and promote the program to incoming students. The Director of Marketing reports to the Department Chair, and Director, or Associate Director of Theatre. Responsibilities Analyzes, prepares, and implements marketing, promotion and advertising strategies, plans and objectives; Designs graphics for publicity and advertising material which includes the production /program website, social media channels, playbills, posters, post cards, fliers, recruitment assets, and other printed materials; Proofs reading and writing copy; Builds and manages the company's social media profiles and web presence; Builds and manages various email campaigns, including template designs, calls-to action, and content used in our email sends; Builds season subscription brochure; Creates product video; Distributes promotional materials; Plans promotional interviews for press, radio, TV, and social media; Documents or manages productions and theatre program events via photography and videography; Updates community calendars; Archives photos, video, and other historical assets; Manages all relationship with marketing vendors; In conjunction with Box Office, reviews/approves ticket prices, performance schedules and all subscription information submitted to the online ticketing platform; Supervises student marketing assistants; and collaborates with the Office of Communications to produce relevant content that meets the needs of both key stakeholders and the Essential Theatre audience. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and eight years of related experience; or master's degree in appropriate area of specialization and six years of experience. Recommended Competencies Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations; Demonstrated knowledge of the concept, principles and practices of leadership and management; Knowledge of the concept, principles and practices of management; Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives; Knowledge of public relations practices; Knowledge of and the ability to apply the principles and practices to strategically align tasks and people with organizational goals and objectives; Ability to train and supervise employees; Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related university policies, procedures, principles, and practices; and Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Preferred Qualifications Masters Degree Required; MFA in Theatre Management or MBA with an emphasis in Marketing; Two-Three years of professional experience in marketing and brand management (for performance arts preferred); Experience in technology support; Experience in photography and videography; Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite or an equivalent software package; and Experience with Qualtrics. Anticipated Salary Range Maximum Hiring Rate: $63,000.00. Pay Plan This is an Administrative and Professional (A&P) position. Conditions of Employment Successful candidate is subject to a pre-employment screening which includes a review of criminal records, reference checks and verification of education.
