PREVIOUS APPLICANTS ARE STILL UNDER CONSIDERATION AND DO NOT NEED TO REAPPLY* The Mission of the Department of Public Instruction:   The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) is charged with implementing the state's public school laws for pre-kindergarten through 12th grade public schools at the direction of the State Superintendent of Public Instruction and State Board of Education.   The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction is seeking applicants for an Education Program Consultant II (Working Title: Education Recruitment Consultant) for our Office of Educator Preparation & Teacher Licensure/Educator Preparation Section.   The Educator Recruitment Consultant is responsible for helping to attract talented educators into the education profession, thus contributing to a more sustainable pipeline. He or she will cultivate and maintain productive relationships with multiple teacher recruitment stakeholders, including but not limited to: lead partners (e.g., TeachNC, Troops to Teachers, TA to Teachers, etc.), education preparation programs (EPPs), public school units (PSUs), and other partner organizations. The Educator Recruitment Consultant is responsible for helping to attract talented educators into the education profession, thus contributing to a more sustainable pipeline. He or she will cultivate and maintain productive relationships with multiple teacher recruitment stakeholders, including but not limited to: lead partners (e.g., TeachNC, Troops to Teachers, TA to Teachers, etc.), education preparation programs (EPPs), public school units (PSUs), and other partner organizations. Any information listed under the text resume section or on an attachment. * Demonstrated experience working with the statutes and State Board of Education's policies regarding educator preparation and/or educator licensure.  * Demonstrated experience coordinating effective working arrangements with various stake holders and/or providing leadership in the interpretation of complex laws, rules, regulations, and/or policies to a full-range of contacts. * Demonstrated experience working with external vendors and/or public-private partnerships to achieve the goal of recruiting. * Demonstrated experience assessing employment trends and/or developing plans to address areas of high need. * Demonstrated experience assessing obstacles to educator recruitment and/or recommending policies and practices that will mitigate those obstacles. Some state job postings say you can qualify by an "equivalent combination of education and experience." If that language appears below, then you may qualify through EITHER years of education OR years of directly related experience, OR a combination of both. See oshr.nc.gov/experience-guide for details.  Master's degree in the education field to which assigned from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of specifically related experience in public education; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
