POSITION SUMMARY: Carpenter helpers are required to perform a variety of tasks including erecting and setting forms for vertical and horizontal concrete structures and site work, per specifications and drawings. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Read and interpret measuring tools such as, tape measure, speed square, framing square…etc. In order to perform task accurately. Fully Understand Plant North and drawing coordinates Assist in setting and placement of forms to proper elevations and location, prepare the base and install proper reinforcing Experience and/or exposure in setting and erecting forms using a wide variety of materials and forming systems for vertical and Horizontal concrete forming. Assist in the marking, cutting, and assembly lines on materials. Assists in Shaping materials to prescribed measurements and assemble, fasten with nails, dowel pins or glue Able to assist in general Carpentry tasks, such as, but not limited to: build and install barricades, decks, shelves, and any other misc. Site needs and duties that may come up. Be able to assist in placing/tying rebar Be able to assist in placing and finishing concrete Assist in the following: Disassemble, remove, and clean form materials Work in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision. Must have the ability to take direction from a higher skilled worker or foreman Must have basic knowledge of the construction processes involved in heavy industrial construction Support project with other tasks as directed by supervision.
