JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Penn State Sustainability and CWC Continuing Education are hiring an instructor for Fall 2024 for their brand new Sustainability Coordinator non-credit certificate course, aimed at working adults in small businesses and organizations who need to understand how to apply sustainability principles to their organization. This 12-week course is offered online, synchronously in weekly 2-hour classes, with very limited out-of-class review of student assignments required. Successful applicants will have experience in course instruction, working with adult learners, principles of sustainability, and with sustainability in business. Experience with online instruction desired. A successful candidate for this position will have: * Minimally requires a Bachelor's degree * Strong communication skills with a history of effectively conveying sustainability concepts to diverse audiences. * Exceptional organizational, time, and project management skills. * Robust collaborative abilities for effective team building and fostering an inclusive environment, including skill at advising and mentoring diverse students. * Deep commitment to sustainability and advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, with a preference for experience in environmental and social justice initiatives. This is a limited-term appointment for a course running September 9 through December 9, with two weeks off for various holidays. Classes run Monday nights from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Work is entirely remote. Application instructions: To apply, submit a resume. The salary range for this position is a fixed flat fee determined by Penn State Continuing Education. CAMPUS SECURITY CRIME STATISTICS: Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
