Our Team: The Ethics & Business Integrity (E&BI) department is the cornerstone of Sanofi's approach at promoting and sustaining ethics and integrity in all our activities is the. This is of course supported by other departments such as but not limited to: Internal Control and Processes, Internal Audit & Risk Management, Global Quality, Procurement, People & Culture, Health, Safety & Environment and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Since 2022, E&BI embarked in a journey of innovative strategy, fostering the continuous enhancement and modernization of the program. This transformation connects EBI's strategy seamlessly with Sanofi's Play to Win strategy. Main Responsibilities: The position of Head of Responsible Innovation is a newly created role within Sanofi's global E&BI setup, designed to underline the ever growing importance of technology in pharmaceuticals, with a pressing need for action in what concerns increasing the focus on bio- and techno-ethics. The position will play a critical role in ensuring that Sanofi operates ethically, sustainably, and in compliance with societal expectations while driving innovation in drug development and healthcare solutions, as according to the "Play to Win" strategy. Reporting into the Global Head of EBI Operations, Laurent Maunier, the role has a seat on Sanofi's global EBI Platform leadership team. Sanofi is looking to hire a visionary technology ethics leader with longstanding career experience in relevant corporate and/or scientific settings, ideally in/with touchpoints to the pharma/healthcare sector. Candidates may bring a medical or other scientific background and have adopted an ethics and compliance focus more recently, as ideally documented by a respective postgraduate degree from a renowned academic institution. In terms of skillset, an in-depth understanding of technological innovation and its ethical implications is required as well as the ability to apply their insights and strategic recommendations to a global business setting. It is key that candidates demonstrate an openness to enabling innovation while at the same time raising awareness for its potential implications from an ethical point of view, adopting a "thoughtful risk taking"-mindset. They will develop and implement a robust governance framework to mitigate risks and ensure ethical decision-making throughout the innovation lifecycle Successful candidates will be working towards giving technology/digital developments an appropriate ethical framework, acting as trusted compliance advisors to functional and business leaders. They show outstanding interpersonal and influencing as well as networking skills, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, healthcare professionals, patient advocacy groups, and sustainability experts, to foster partnerships and gather insights that inform responsible innovation initiatives, driven by E&BI. Successful candidates act as thought leaders and represent the company's commitment to responsible innovation in relevant forums and events, both externally and internally. They will have a track record of driving a strong culture of integrity and impeccable business conduct, of adapting and innovating within a demanding and changing technological and regulatory landscape as well as the ability to leverage data and analytics to achieve their compliance goals. Successful candidates, by level of intellect and expertise, find it easy to gain credibility in an organization with high-caliber compliance leaders. The ideal candidate is a business-oriented, innovation-focused ethics and technology leader with excellent academic/scientific credentials, stature, reputation, backbone and standing. About you * Advanced degree in pharmaceutical sciences, life sciences, or related field; a PhD or equivalent is preferred; * Extensive experience in the pharma or technology industry, with a focus on ethics and compliance and responsible innovation, or related fields; * Strong understanding of ethical, social, and environmental considerations in drug development; * Proven track record in developing and implementing responsible innovation strategies within a complex, multinational corporate setting; * Deep knowledge of regulatory frameworks, industry guidelines, and best practices related to responsible innovation in the pharma sector. * Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholders; * The ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams towards a common goal; * Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; * Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
