This pivotal role is at the heart of our commitment to delivering a comprehensive, customer-centric approach to addressing critical interactions and resolving issues that our customers face. As part of the ECR group, which encompasses the Enterprise Complaints Management Office, the Customer Remediation Center of Excellence, and Customer Excellence Data and Analytics (CEDA), you will play a key role in not only understanding the root causes of customer issues but also in devising and implementing robust solutions that prioritize customer needs and satisfaction. In the Customer Excellence Data and Analytics (CEDA) division, which is an integral part of ECR, our mandate extends beyond traditional data science and analytics. We are responsible for the insightful reporting across the breadth of Wells Fargo, ensuring that we not only meet the expectations set forth by regulators but also empower our employees with the necessary tools and training for their success. As a Lead Data Science Consultant, you will be at the forefront of our advanced applied analytics and data science endeavors, particularly within the automated controls workstream. Your unique blend of technical prowess and strategic insight will be crucial as you leverage both structured (operational) data and unstructured (voice of customer) data. Your mission will be to design and implement automated controls that play a significant role in risk mitigation. We are looking for someone who is not just adept in the technical aspects of the role but also possesses a strategic mindset that can translate complex data into actionable and preventative solutions. In this role, you will: * Lead complex initiatives by utilizing data-driven, advanced analytical, statistical techniques, algorithms, or models to make actionable insights, trends, recommendations, including those that are cross-functional with broad impact acting as key participant in large-scale planning * Review and analyze complex, multi-faceted, larger-scale, or longer-term business, operational, or technical challenges that require in-depth hypothesis generation and advanced analysis of multiple parts, including intangibles or unprecedented factors * Make decisions in complex and multi-faceted situations requiring an expertise in analytical thinking to resolve abstract business issues that influence and lead broader work team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives * Strategically collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level to senior managers to drive recommendations and strategies based on data driven, analytical insights, trends, and patterns that will resolve issues and achieve goals; may lead projects, teams or serve as a peer mentor * Execute complex analytical experiments and create innovative statistical models to discover solutions for abstract business problems across various domains * Interpret and analyze data, using advanced analytics modeling methods and programming, to recommend ways to solve problems and influence business decisions and strategies * Provide consultation to peers on data science best practices, methods, and tools to leverage * Communicate actionable insights and recommendations using data in a digestible format to a non-technical audience of varying levels Required Qualifications: * 5+ years of data science experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education * Master's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, economics, or computer science Desired Qualifications: * Expertise in SQL: Profound knowledge and hands-on experience in SQL for complex database queries and data manipulation. * Proficiency in Python and Bash Scripting: Ability to write efficient, maintainable code in Python and create Bash scripts for data analysis and automation tasks. * Consulting and Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated experience in consulting, with the ability to understand client needs, analyze complex problems, and provide strategic, data-driven solutions. * Experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP): Solid understanding of NLP concepts and techniques, with a track record of applying these methods to real-world data challenges. * Communication and Leadership: Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and lead cross-functional project teams.
