The coordinator will create new pathways to employment for participants who have completed the technical English language learning courses and vocational training programs offered through the Refugee Vocational Training Program. The RVP Coordinator will develop new and strengthen existing partnerships to provide opportunities for participants to access meaningful employment in growing sectors. The RVP Coordinator will create individual career plans for program participants and oversee / support ELL vocational courses including a small team of 4-5 part time recruiters and instructors. Job Duties: * Meet with local employers in the 5 sectors (Nurse Aide, Welding, Electrician, A+, and Apparel Production) to create partnerships for employment for enrolled participants. * Work individually with Technical ELL instructors to ensure the curriculum meets the needs of the technical instructors in each of the 5 sectors. Conduct follow-up with employers to check on status/retention of recently-hired clients and troubleshoot issues identified. * Oversee 2-3 part-time program assistants and 3-5 ELL instructors. * Meet with program participants to ensure program completion and to develop career goals upon program completion. * Assess refugees' ongoing employment needs, including opportunities for job upgrade, vocational training and career development opportunities. * Supervise caseload of part-time assistants supporting participant career planning. * Document all refugee employment services activities per program guidelines. * Participate in Refugee Career Pathway and Global Learning team and office meetings and other events/initiatives that support goals of RCP and RVP programs. * Monitor all grant programs or projects to see that requirements are met and within budget guidelines. Provide grant reports to grant funding organization. * Oversee recruitment and enrollment activities carried out by part time staff to enroll qualifying refugees into the program per Office of Refugee Resettlement Guidelines and documentation standards. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree (Education, Higher Education, Social Work, World Languages, Cultural Studies, or related field) and four years related experience. * Bilingual or multilingual (French, Swahili, Arabic, Pasto, Dari, Lingala, Kinyarwanda, etc). * Must have a valid driver's license. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (Education, Higher Education, Social Work, World Languages, Cultural Studies, or related field) and six years related experience. Additional Skills Requested: * Willingness to work some non-traditional schedules with some events and outreach programs during the evening and on weekends. Events and programs will be planned with advanced notice. * Commitment to the mission of a comprehensive community and technical college and student success. * Personal and professional integrity with an emphasis on confidentiality and attention to detail. * Must be self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects at once. * Must have a strong understanding and knowledge of immigrant educational, social, and economical assets and barriers.
