Simon Eye and Center for Advanced Eye Care are partner practices with a combined 27 Optometrists, 8 Ophthalmologists, and 150 staff serving the state of Delaware and West Chester and Bucks County, PA. We are aligned to ensure our communities can access patient-centered, medically oriented full service eyecare delivered in convenient locations with friendly, knowledgeable doctors and staff. Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the Billing Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the billing department, partnering with credentialing, and training staff as needed. This includes establishing and implementing best practices to ensure the efficiency of billing operations throughout the end-to-end process. Key Responsibilities: * Management and oversight of the billing department * Educate the team and organization on best practices from intake, verification, claim investigation, claim disputes, and claim resolution * Must have a hands-on approach and be willing to roll-up sleeves and help to adjudicate claims * Work with Physicians and other Team Members to help bring resolution to outstanding claims requiring clarification or lacking needed information * Develop a strong partnership with field operations to stay knowledgeable on current issues, potential changes in operations, and payor relationships * Manage all remittance and correspondence pertaining to claims adjudication * Ensures patient inquiries regarding account status are answered professionally, accurately, and timely; Maintain HIPAA confidentiality of patients. * Provides status updates and key metrics to Leadership on a regular cadence * Ensures compliance with financial and legal regulations Successful Candidate Will Demonstrate: * Clear and concise communication * Ability to work autonomously and is a self-starter * Excellent communication skills both written and verbal * Proficiency in excel as well as varying billing software solutions - ModMed a plus * Strong collaborating skills, and an ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team * Ability to exercise judgment * Ability to identify problems or gaps in processes and will proactively implement solutions * Ability to lead and work with teams * Willingness and ability to travel to other Simon Eye/CAE locations Qualifications and Requirements: * Associate's Degree required (Bachelor's Degree preferred) * 5+ years of experience as a billing manager or similar role * Must have experience working in the healthcare industry with specific experience in the full cycle of revenue cycle management
