Position Title Computer Support Technician, Duncan School of Law Department ADMINISTRATIVE COMPUTING Position Category Staff Full Time Job Description
The Computer Support Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing computer hardware, classroom technology, access control and any network related problems. Install new hardware, software upgrades and patches, network and phone cabling as required. Organizes Student Technical Assistants and works with other computer support staff as necessary to support technology. This position will has nonstandard work hours to meet the service needs of the LMU community.
Required Qualifications
Associate degree in computer science or related field and two years repair and networking experience or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been derived.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of college policies and procedures affecting assigned work, knowledge of current information technology, knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and methods, related to equipment, knowledge of computer hardware and software, maintaining and troubleshooting computer hardware and software skills, skill in assisting users with problem determination and resolution, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other department staff, faculty, students and the public, & skills in presenting ideas and concepts orally and in writing.

configures computers and peripheral hardware to established specifications;

makes adjustments to specifications as needed by users;
Job Duty
ensures appropriate phone connectivity is available as needed;
Job Duty
installs and configures network printers;
Job Duty
connects users to network;
Job Duty
completes or assists in the completion of required institutional and program accreditation reports and other reports necessary for the operation and advancement of the University;
Job Duty
performs other duties as assigned
