The position of IDEAS student co-director is a substantial one with several components throughout the year. Work begins at the beginning of summer, when the two student co-directors help the faculty director reviewing applications for the coming year; this process involves communicating and often meeting with applicants, as well as meeting with co-directors several times to finalize the list of accepted classes.
