Associate Specialist, Scrum Master/Agile Manager, Omnium Change Management The role involves working for Northern Trust Omnium Change Management, supporting the software development lifecycle for the Omnium Platform. This is a multi-tenant platform supporting mainly Hedge Fund Services (HFS), a global fund administrator, specializing in complex hedge funds and alternative asset investments. The successful candidate will be an ambitious self-starter who has demonstrated the ability to function as an effective and strategic leader in a dynamic, fast-paced, and demanding environment. This individual will have a strong technical background, experience working within the Financial Services industry and a proven track record of solving business problems, managing projects and internal/external relationships. The role will be a key part of our Omnium Change Management team and will be visible to many teams and partners. This role is responsible for project management and scrum master/agile execution for the Solutions Oversight Team. This Team of Teams was formed to create solutions for business processes using technology such as Xceptor, Alteryx, VBA, Python, SQL and Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, PowerBI, etc) as supplemental automation beyond the Omnium Product team. The Scrum Master/Agile Management function is responsible for executing product-focused visions aligned to HFS' business strategy - optimizing technology sequencing and delivery. Major Duties: * Responsible for managing strategic development execution to support the Omnium Platform and various segment stakeholders/clients * Responsible for managing the software development pipeline - from feature prioritization to coordinating the deployment to production * Demonstrate T-shaped skills in the areas of agile project management, scrum mastering/agile coaching, release planning and project management * Lead regular meetings with development managers/developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to prioritize development and coordinate testing and release management * Backlog grooming and prioritization utilizing tools such as Azure Boards in collaboration with business sponsors, development teams and business analysts that align to client and business objectives. Manage reprioritization and negotiations between stakeholders as needed. Collaborate with peer agile managers when sequencing requirements are cross-workstreams * Responsible for reporting on development team activities and preparing development roadmaps visualizations for stakeholder transparency * Lead release planning activities to ensure successful delivery to production. Create release versions in partnership with development team(s), communicate and manage release testing timelines and support production coordination in partnership with release management. Ensure tight testing coordination with peers across omnium applications. * Demonstrate leadership within the organization; proactively identify ways to demonstrate continuous improvement across teams. Facilitate continuous improvement best practices, identify broken processes, and recommend process improvements to streamline and optimize delivery execution. * This position requires commitment to exceptional results, a strong desire for continuous improvement, a willingness to experiment and learn, and the ability to build strong relationships with multi-disciplined teams. * Use sound judgement to escalate issues appropriately and timely, including solution options and associated impacts to drive effective decision making. * Demonstrate critical thinking to anticipate and connect opportunities to drive the project forward and resolve challenges / escalations. * Demonstrate leadership within the team; effectively lead meetings, drive agendas, set high expectations, hold team accountable for results, be proactive on execution and follow-up on takeaways. * Understand the business functions, clients, and products to effectively lead the team through change and solution issues. * Display a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business and working with the team itself to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity in project execution. * Demonstrate strong collaboration with others and high emotional intelligence to build productive and strategic relationships. * Self-starter, performs independently with some supervision and coaching, leads, and directs the efforts of team(s) to improve the delivery of quality client service. Coordinates with teams within HFS and outside of HFS. * Executes on efforts to improve overall service quality and promote employee engagement. * Viewed as a leader and influences peers, team, supervisor, client, other BAU teams, Managers and all NT servicing teams. * Serves as a coach for others. * Maintain focus on diversity and inclusion. Knowledge / Skills: * Experience working with an agile mindset on large scale, technically complex projects * Highly flexible and adaptable to change; capable of being a 'change agent' to identify and drive productivity transformation * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills ("solutions-oriented" mindset) * Client relationship focused (internal relationships) and high emotional intelligence (EQ) * Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and with accuracy * Ability to run a meeting and drive an agenda * Innovative reporting which fits Agile framework Experience: * A College or University degree and relevant proven work experience * Certifications in Agile project management are a plus * A minimum of 5-10+ years of experience; Agile or project management preferred * Experience with Investment Management and/or Financial Services; Alternative Asset Management specific a plus * Proven product and / or project management practice * Familiarity with Agile tools such as Azure DevOps or a willingness to learn (Confluence, Azure) * Familiarity with the Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) * Familiarity with project management tools and concepts * Familiarity and the ability to utilize formal Agile methodology and frameworks (Kanban and Scrum), principles, techniques, and values for the delivery of new and enhanced applications is a plus * Experience using PowerBI, VBA, Python or other scripting languages not required but a plus * A genuine desire and capability to work in a fast-paced, professional, inclusive environment which requires teamwork, well-honed problem-solving skills, frequent re-prioritization, deadline management, ongoing and comprehensive communication, constant attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement and best practices #LI-HY #LI-CL1 Working with Us: As a Northern Trust partner, greater achievements await.
