Hybrid: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday. South San Francisco. The Sr Revenue Analyst, reporting directly to the Revenue Director, is a pivotal new role at Twist. Revenue recognition in the life science industry is uniquely different than in other industries.Recent developments have expanded the types of revenue streams and accounting which have further increased the complexity of the Company. We are looking for a unique individual who is excited by these challenges and is committed to developing a deep understanding of the business model. The Sr Revenue Analyst will partner closely with the Billing, Information Technology and Commercial teams to understand key trends, judgment areas and advise as necessary in shaping business initiatives and IT solution requirements to ensure accurate revenue recognition. The Sr Revenue Analyst will serve as a subject matter expert on all key revenue accounting rules, helping the Company set policies and procedures compliant with accounting rules and SOX. The Sr Revenue Analyst will ensure the close process is efficient and effective with a focus on the accuracy of revenue reporting (both from management and external reporting perspectives). What You'll Be Doing: * Develop a solid understanding of the business model in order to appropriately apply technical accounting guidance and GAAP interpretationsLead a high performing revenue function and scale the group's knowledge and capabilities as Twist grows * Responsible for monthly close and reporting process assisting team with preparation and review of revenue journal entries and account analysis * Participate in revenue recognition committee review meetings and develop recommendations for any changes in revenue recognition in line with the Company's policy * Enhance current SOX controls and develop new controls as the Company continues to expand and evolve * Manage Large amounts of data using Excel analytical tools to illustrate findings, analyze trends and report results. * Work closely with business leaders from IT, Billing and Commercial and participate in initiatives for ongoing process and systems improvements to increase compliance, integrity and scalability * Develop reporting tools and metrics to measure business trends in partnership with FP&A leaders * Develop and maintain controls related to revenue recognition and receivables process * Review healthcare contracts and international partner agreements to determine proper revenue recognition and billing. * Prepare ad hoc revenue analysis as requested and respond to auditor queries * Ensure Sales Commissions plans and calculations are accurate and appropriate What You'll Bring to the Team: * BA or BS degree in accounting or equivalent, with strong US GAAP knowledge. * Track record of successful experience of 3-7 years working in the accounting/reporting field, preferably with a recognized accounting firm * Proven experience working in a hands-on role in the day-to-day operation of the accounting department * Detail-oriented, able to perform effective self-reviews of all work produced * Highly reliable with an ability to work with independence * Must be able to take the initiative on projects and tasks, and work proactively with business partners to achieve results * Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to communicate financial concepts and/or analytical findings * Strong knowledge of Excel required * SAP ERP knowledge is a plus * CPA and accounting experience preferred
