Job Description: POSITION SUMMARY: This is an on-site, full-time position. The QC Learning Innovation Hub is seeking an Instructional Designer (ID) to provide services, training, and consultations to faculty in the use of pedagogically sound technology tools. Under the direction of the AVP of Online Learning, the Hub ID is a collaborative solution-maker who can work in partnership with college stakeholders in the creation of the highest quality and engaging participatory learning experiences for our students. The Hub ID shows commitment to a rapid development mindset, and willingness to support colleagues to move a project toward completion. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Works closely with deans and faculty subject matter experts to develop online courses that promote the use of classroom and online technology to deliver relevant, content, and engaging experiences for all students. * Assists faculty with aligning their teaching style, course learning objectives, assessments, and instructional materials for high-quality learning experiences. * Assists with building, publishing, maintaining, and archiving of all courses in Canvas. * Assists in the development and facilitation of professional development opportunities on new academic software, course design and instructional best practices. * Keeps abreast of latest developments in the field and works with AVP of Online Learning to pilot and implement new technologies and processes. * Manages multiple projects to ensure projects remain on time throughout all phases of development. * Manages consistent and clear communication with deans, faculty, and other college stakeholders. * Participate in mandatory training/coursework. Including but not limited to: Canvas, Quality Matters, Digital Media Software Title IX and Sexual Misconduct Sexual Harassment and Non-Discrimination Security Policy and Notification of Security Reporting FERPA Municipal Ethics Law * Other duties as assigned by the AVP of Online Learning. Requirements: EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE: Master's Degree in Instructional Design, Education, or closely related field; with a minimum of three (3) years' experience that includes an equivalent combination of instructional design training, the use of emerging technologies in education and work experience. College teaching experience preferred. Required Knowledge, Abilities and Skills * Curriculum or instructional design experience with an emphasis on Universal Design, backwards design, and authentic performance assessment. * Proven ability to collaborate with deans and faculty individually or in groups to develop courses using new technologies and pedagogies to increase student engagement. * Ability to evaluate and ensure the quality, accuracy, and effectiveness of each course within the context of Quality Matters (QM), National Standards for Quality Online Teaching (NSO) and Learning, and college processes. * Experience leveraging open educational resources (OER) for cost effective, high-quality, online learner engagement. * Knowledge of cutting-edge AI technologies and their current uses and misuses in the context of teaching and learning. * Knowledge of ADA standards and copyright compliance for online course design. * Ability to Manage multiple projects to ensure projects remain on time throughout all phases of development. * Ability to manage consistent and clear communication with deans, faculty, and other college stakeholders. TRAVEL: Occasional local travel to Quincy, Plymouth campuses and Boston educational site required.
