Positive Behavior Interventionist JobID: 6095 Position Type: Licensed Educators and Specialists/Title 1 Date Posted: 7/25/2024 Location: Lewis and Clark Elementary School Date Available: 08/21/2024 Additional Information: Show/Hide Job Type Full Time Benefits Eligibility Benefits Eligible Schedule Professional Support Staff Contract Salary Range From $45,233 to $55,678 annually This position is for the 2024-2025 School Year. This position is contingent on the availability of specific Title I funding and may be subject to non-renewal following the 2024-2025 school year based on the unavailability or uncertainty of Title I funding. Position Purpose: Develop and implement student behavior plans and direct intervention under the direction of Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and MTSS team. Responsibilities 1. Student Behavior Management: with specific training in applied behavior analysis, collaborates with teaching and other school staff and families to increase positive behavior and student social/emotional development. Priority: Essential | Percent of Time: 80% Examples of this work include: * Creates behavior support plans in conjunction with the MTSS team. * Implements direct intervention with the frequency, intensity, and duration necessary for each student's unique needs. * Monitors the implementation of behavior support plans by the Positive Behavior Technicians. * Sets goals, assesses progress, analyzes data, and modifies behavior support plans. * Collects data including frequency, duration, Antecedent-Behavior-Consequence (ABC), and interval data to develop and adjust student behavior support plans. * Attends staff and student meetings; communicates students' progress on goals. * Collaborates with team members. * Observes students to determine the generalization of skills. * Creates and maintains effective scheduling. 2. Professional Development: maintains, acquires, and expands position related theory and technical knowledge. Priority: Essential | Percent of Time: 15% Examples of this work include: * Completes 40 hours of applied behavior analysis training prior to hire or within 4 months of hire date. * Receives and maintains certification for nonviolent Crisis Intervention training prior to hiring or within 4 months from hire date. * Contributes to the implementation of special projects when assigned. * Participates in professional development opportunities in the area of Special Education and/or Regular Education Standards-Based Education. * Participates in all mandatory training or training appropriate to the position as required by the district. 3. General Support: other duties as assigned. Priority: Secondary | Percent of Time: 5% Examples of this work include: * General student supervision as needed. This includes but is not limited to locations indoors and outdoors, such as lunchroom, bus stops, playground, classroom, assemblies, and kitchen. * Attends conferences and workshops toward present and future career development. * Participates in general staff meetings. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Minimum Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in a field of human services such as social services, education, psychology * Minimum three years of experience managing complex behaviors * Ability to maintain composure under stressful conditions * Strong communication and problem-solving skills * Experience serving diverse populations * Experience working with children and families Preferred Qualifications * Master's degree in a field of human services such as social services, education, psychology * Applied behavior analysis training * Experience working in a school setting * Knowledge of Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) or Response to Intervention (RtI) Application Procedures All applications for open Fargo Public Schools positions must be made via www.applitrack.com/fargo/onlineapp. Paper submissions will not be accepted.
