BASIC FUNCTION: Ensures the smooth, efficient operation of the laboratories by supervising assigned personnel, performing assigned administrative functions, overseeing and managing technical and operational functions of the laboratory, and performing other tasks and duties as assigned. JOB RELATIONSHIPS: Collaborates effectively with the Lab Manager and the Medical Director to ensure timely service delivery, operational efficiency and regulatory compliance throughout the laboratory. General and administrative supervision is received from the Lab Manager, technical supervision is received from the Medical Director. Provides functional and administrative supervision of other leadership, technical and support staff as assigned. Hours, schedule, shift rotation, weekend coverage, holiday coverage, call , etc. M-F 730am-330pm. No weekends, no holiday BASIC/REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory sciences from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 2. 3-5 years experience in laboratory or health care supervision is required. 3. 3-5 years experience working directly in laboratory or health care operations is required. 4. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills are required 5. Demonstrated experience working effectively in a welcoming and respectful workplace environment. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Prior experience directly supervising staff in a clinical laboratory setting or in a direct patient care or patient care support services setting is highly desired. 2. Prior experience working in a clinical laboratory setting is highly desired. 3. Prior experience working in an academic health center is desired. 4. Demonstrated success in leading interdisciplinary teams is desired. 5. Certification (or eligibility for certification) by the American Society of Clinical Pathology and/or National Certification Agency is highly desired.
