Job Details: Job Summary: Responsible for ensuring that Cubic has a product set (based around the Cubic One platform and potentially non-gate devices) which meets the needs of its customers and their riders, ensuring that our product development is focused on the needs of our target market segments. Working with other teams in the business to define product roadmaps which are executable by the engineering teams, and incorporate market trends and customer needs, act as an advocate for Cubic and its solutions. This position typically works under limited supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority. The role will require both domestic and international travel. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Product Management * Ensure that Cubic One and related product sets are fit for the target markets, create go to markets * Define the different elements of the Product to create a product catalogue (requirements, features, and specifications) and customer facing description of the product * Capture requirements from the market using the range of tools and networks available * Create and maintain the detailed product roadmap (s) prioritizing key features, enhancements, and timelines based on market demand, customer feedback, business objectives and impact. Ensuring that customers, market and internal teams are aligned towards the appropriate focus and articulating it to our people and customers * Advise the CGO, CTO, CDO and VP Innovation on potential partnerships to support our offering to the market * Work with the SLT and key stakeholders to communicate and gain buy-in for the product strategy * Work with the CGO to appropriately align the Product Strategy to market driven pricing and cost constraints Sales and Marketing * Create market collateral and engagement materials in conjunction with Marketing to enable Cubic to communicate its offering to the market effectively. * Support the sales effort through market engagement and communication * Support the sales effort with sales collateral around the Product, including the Product Catalogue, Presentations and Demonstrations * Own the creation and on going development of demonstration tools related to the Product * Engaging Subject Matter Experts across the organization to source content, blogs, infographics, and videos * Strategically augment strategy based on industry change indicators. Product Development (Build) * Development of our Product strategy from a customer perspective (primary owner CDO CTO) and supporting technical product owners and solutions sales specialists in delivery of that strategy * Liaise with the Engineering teams to ensure that the product as built meets the Product Catalogue Definition * Support the CDO in developing the IRAD needs for the product * Develop and own any business cases required for new customer facing functionality in the system * Ensure alignment and effective communication across all teams involved in the product lifecycle. * Manage products from concept to commercialization and beyond. Product Evangelism * Define unique value proposition for the product (s), such as market expansion, technological advancements, customer satisfaction, competitors' products, and strategies. * Support actively the communication of the Cubic brand and product * Act as an advocate for Cubic and its solutions * Supporting the organization's growth with targeted lead generation, partners, and events Services * Define the services catalog to be offered to the customer and work with the appropriate teams to set up a delivery process. * Create appropriate customer and market collateral as per the product components * Identify and incorporate services/BPO market trends into services catalog on an ongoing basis Customer focus * Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and market opportunities to inform strategic decisions and product development. * Identify target customer segments, their specific pain points, requirements and explore areas for innovation. * continuously gather and incorporate customer feedback into the product development process. * Maintain a deep understanding of customer needs, pain points, and preferences through direct interaction, surveys, and data analysis to inform product enhancements. Ecosystem * Build relationships with industry consultants and understand their point of view on the marketplace solutions and potentially leverage it into our products, solutions, and services * Support the CGO to influence industry consultants with Cubic's view on products, solutions, and services * Build relationships with industry ecosystem players including competitors to understand their roadmaps and how to best leverage the changing landscape for our customer's success and our success * Work with ISC to identify and leverage appropriate players for 3rd party solution where we don't want to build the solution ourselves (Readers, TVM, etc) and/or 3rd party services providers where we don't want to build the solution ourselves * Monitor and incorporate technology landscape changes into Product Roadmap General * Support the Chief Growth Officer in delivery of the strategic goals of the business. Minimum Job Requirements: * Four-year college degree in engineering, finance, or business discipline, plus a minimum of twelve years management experience. MBA or advanced degree preferred. * Must have a strong background in Transit products and services. * Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence outcomes with strong negotiation, written and oral communication skills. * Passionate about innovation, technology and driving positive customer experience. * Must be self-motivated, creative and can work closely in a team environment with other departments and individuals at all levels in the organization. * Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of functionals, industry and technology trends. * Prior experience of working with private equity desired but not essential. * Able to travel domestically and internationally.
