The Interiors CAE Engineer will be responsible for analyzing and optimizing unique IP, Console, and interior trim structures to meet internal performance requirements. You will work with a diverse team to launch the next generation Vehicle Platform Architectures for electric vehicles. We are the movers of the world and the makers of the future. Electric Vehicle Digital Design (EVDD) is responsible for developing the key technologies and capabilities - such as EV platforms, batteries, e-motors, inverters, charging and recycling - to create ground-up breakthrough electric vehicles. By joining the best software, engineering, design and UX talent, you will be a part of creating new technologies and concepts that can be applied across the Ford enterprise. Being on the EVDD team means building the future as Ford's center of innovation and growth through electric and connected vehicles and services. What you'll be able to do: * Work with Program Design, safety and CAE teams to develop interior systems for electric vehicle platforms * Develop CAE models and analyze IP, Console and interior trim structures. * Where appropriate, conduct DOE/DFSS studies by utilizing optimization tools, on designs to meet performance requirements within the constraints of conflicting attributes such cost and mass. * Support quick concept development of new and emerging ideas and work in a cross-functional environment to identify and overcome technical challenges and meet requirements * Participate in post-test teardowns to correlate CAE results to physical tests. * Ensure designs conform to safety standards and U.S. government regulations. * Support the creation of standard work procedures for delivering quality models and simulation results. * Responsible for post processing results and creating animations to identifying critical load paths. Use CAE tools develop countermeasures to meet performance requirements. * Participate in design reviews and present design concepts.
