Job Description SUMMARY Provide administration and coordination of all activities involving the procurement process including, but not limited to, mobile devices, workplace print/copy solutions (commodities) and all aspects of Martin Transportation's purchasing needs in order to provide Martin companies with on-time delivery, high quality, and lowest total cost of ownership through the application of best in purchasing practices. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Purchase the highest quality commodities specified at the lowest total cost of ownership. Ensuring products and services are obtained from reputable sources, which meet quality and performance standards with on-time delivery. * Manage the mobile device program including cell phone provider negotiations, ordering of all mobility devices, plan optimization / cost reduction strategies, and ongoing management of the mobility systems used at Martin. * Manage and negotiate certain enterprise-wide printer and copier programs. Examples: Xerox MPS, Copier Leases * Investigates and develops sources of commodities, prepares and distributes RFQ's, analyzes responses to determine the highest value to optimize total cost of ownership to Martin. * Research, meet with and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, service, availability, reliability, production/distribution capabilities, and performance history in order to explore process improvements, savings opportunities and shorten cycle times. * Monitors and analyzes pricing trends, cost drivers and spend data to ensure commodities are purchased at competitive prices that meet business requirements. * Develops, negotiates and administers strategic sourcing agreements with suppliers, for continuous improvements and savings opportunities. Examples: uniform, decal, and printing programs. * Manage Martin Transport Inc. discount programs. Examples: MTI diesel fuel, DEF, filter, and tire programs. * Monitor shipments to ensure that ordered material is received on time and resolve problems related to nonconforming, damaged or undelivered goods. * Resolve invoice discrepancies when compared to price as represented on the purchase order. * Gather, interpret and use complex data to develop actionable steps that will improve purchasing processes and optimize results. Included, not limited to, diesel fuel and tire purchases. * Process JD Edwards purchase requests * Analyze JD Edwards Purchasing data using statistical methods to identify areas for operational improvement and make suggestions for streamlining purchasing processes. Job Requirements EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE Minimum (5) years of relevant industrial/transportation buying experience or Bachelor Degree with minimum two (2) years of extensive industrial/transportation buying experience. Job experience must be recent.
