Overview The Social Media Specialist is a part-time hourly position at the School of Graduate Studies (SGS). This position works closely with the SGS Marketing Director to achieve marketing, recruitment, and administrative objectives. * Hourly wage starts at $17.00 per hour. * Flexible hours to work with school schedules (20-29 hours per week) * Potential for hybrid telework is eligible during the summer and winter breaks. * Occasional weekend and evening availability for grad school events. Responsibilities * Develop and execute social media strategies: Create and implement effective social media strategies, including content, marketing, and engagement strategies. * Content creation: Generate high-quality written and visual content that informs, educates, and resonates with our target audiences. For example, gathering student highlights, filming and editing student interviews, photographing and filming SGS events, creating flyers and other graphics, etc.. * Platform management: Manage, develop, and optimize SGS social media accounts and build its presence across various platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.) by regularly posting content, responding to comments, and engaging with other social media accounts. * Campaigns: Develop and manage paid and unpaid campaigns across social media channels, webpages, and newsletters, to promote grad school objectives. * Analytics and performance reports: Proactively monitor social media metrics, define and track key performance indicators, and provide regular reports and recommendations for increasing traffic, growth, and engagement performance. * Collaboration: Develop collaborative relationships with university organizations and programs to increase SGS student reach and impact across social media platforms. * Development: Help brainstorm, plan, and execute events for both retention and recruitment purposes. These events can include monthly graduate student socials, professional development workshops, recruitment events, and student orientation. * Events and trainings: Help set up, manage, and clean up SGS events and trainings. * Other responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Knowledge of social media best practices. * Photography and videography skills. * Experience with Adobe Creative Suite. * Keen attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications: * Email marketing experience. * Event management experience. * Survey research and data management. * Experience reaching audiences via Reddit. Advertised Salary $17.00 per hour ADA Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes.
