What you'll do... Position: Software Engineer III Job Location: 860 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086 Duties: Develop high-performance and scalable big data applications aimed at precision in employing cutting-edge measurement for delivering advertising campaign reports to Walmart advertisers. Design, develop, and maintain software for reporting data pipelines in Hadoop and Map-Reduce. Analyze large scale advertising dataset using SQL, Spark, or Hive to extract insights. Extract, Transform, and Load data from data storage using Python and Shell scripts. Build software to extract meaningful features through advanced statistical methodology, ensuring the accuracy of reporting output. Work closely with data scientists to validate and enhance statistical and machine learning models for advertising campaign performance leveraging frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Sklearn. Work with product managers to ascertain the enforceability of Ads measurements and rationality of Ads reporting. Implement machine learning measuring applications formulated by data scientists, facilitate parallel processing of vast data volumes, and produce outcomes within the distributed ecosystem of Walmart. Deploy distributed big data applications with cluster management systems into cloud infrastructure and provide support for both daily and post-ad campaign reporting needs. Design and develop systems and machine learning methods. Apply them in the cloud with containers to ensure the quality of large data pipelines and guide the product through all stages of the user acceptance process. Develop software APIs using design patterns in microservices and support external requests on reporting data. Design and implement comprehensive testing plans including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing to validate the correctness and reliability of an application. Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years of experience in software engineering or a related area. Skills required: Experience coding at least one of the following object-oriented programming languages: Java, Scala, C++, or Python. Experience performing Extract, Transform, and Load operation on large datasets using Python and Shell Scripts. Experience processing large scale data using Hadoop and Map-Reduce. Experience analyzing data with Spark, Hive, or SQL. Experience with feature engineering including Feature Crosses with Numpy and Pandas. Experience implementing statistical and machine learning models using TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Sklearn. Experience working in AdTech. Experience developing techniques to ascertain the correctness of applications using unit, integration, and end-to-end testing. Experience with parallelism in programming for distributed systems. Experience deploying, scheduling, and testing distributed applications in cloud infrastructure with clusters management systems. Experience working on microservices. Experience applying design patterns in designing and building APIs. Experience with containerized technologies including Docker. Experience with public cloud solution: GCP. Employer will accept any amount of graduate coursework, graduate research experience or professional experience with the required skills. Salary Range: $117,000/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.  Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
