Steelworx Industrial Group, LLC. is looking for a highly motivated and experienced General Plant Manager to join their client's team in Fort Worth, TX. Headquartered in Vernon, CA, our client is a premium full spectrum manufacturer and distributor of fine food and beverage products. Family owned and operated since 1977, our client offers more than 4,000 products to a variety of customers in both the foodservice and retail channels. The General Plant Manager will be responsible for the entire P&L of the facility along with the development of key performance indicators, budgets, standards, and accountability of the team. The General Plant Manager will also work closely with various departments on projects, new product developments as well as reviewing new equipment purchases.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the P&L of the facility, as well as budget development Coach and mentor the production team members.
- Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) as well as action plans to ensure company targets and goals are met.
- Work with Engineering and Continuous Improvement teams to review current processes and develop improvements in throughput and labor reduction.
- Develop labor and run rates for all current and new products.
- Work with R&D, Technical Services, and Chefs on new product development.
- Develop a process for optimizing production scheduling that considers allergens and other changeovers.
- Develop the cascading of goals down to various team members.
- Work with Corporate Environmental, Health, & Safety on accident root causes and create predictive measures to help reduce and prevent accidents.
- Work with Human Resources on performance evaluations and discipline steps for hourly and salaried employees.
- Work with the Maintenance team on a preventative maintenance schedule, compliance, and spend.
- Develop meeting cadences and frequencies.
- Review of costs by products and/or lines to ensure margins are maintained.
- Review production volume by product and provide recommendations to the business team.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or within a technical field preferred.
- 10+ years of Food Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience as an Operations Manager, Engineering Manager, and/or Plant Manager experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, listening, and interpersonal with the ability to transfer knowledge to others.
- Ability to exercise independent judgement in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with various departments to drive holistic improvement.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use statistical tools and data-driven methods to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
