When we started Uplinq, we wanted to help small businesses use their financial data to make timely business decisions, survive loan due diligence, and work with acquirers/investors. The Senior Tax Preparer will be responsible for preparing and reviewing a variety of complex tax returns for individuals and businesses. This position requires in-depth knowledge of tax laws and regulations, excellent communication skills, strong excel skills, and a proven ability to work independently and as part of a team. Things you will do: * Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and estates. * Conduct tax research and planning to minimize tax liabilities and identify tax-saving opportunities for clients. * Consult with clients on business and tax strategies, including financial planning and estate planning. * Work closely with senior management to develop internal policies and procedures. * Review financial records, income statements, and documentation to ensure accuracy. * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current tax laws and regulations. * Train and mentor junior staff members on tax-related matters. What we are looking for: * Active EA or CPA certification. * Must have strong Excel skills. * Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (preferred). * Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in tax preparation and consulting. * Proficiency with tax software such as Drake, ProSeries, Lacerte, or similar. * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines. * Pacific time zone is a plus. Other Qualifications: Education * Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, math, finance, or economics is highly preferred. Experience * 5+ years experience in public accounting or finance, managing accounting and financial operations. * Significant experience with QuickBooks Online and experience adapting to new processes and software very quickly.
