Job Summary The Financial Aid & Scholarships Student Associate will work in a fast paced and welcoming environment in the Financial Aid & Scholarship department. Assist with the development and maintenance of reception area operations. The individual should have a solid working knowledge of office processes and systems, be efficient, adapt and learn processes quickly, be able to multi-task and be able to work through interruptions. This position requires an individual to maintain confidentiality and project a professional image. The ideal individual would retain employment at Financial Aid & Scholarships for at least one year or more. Freshmen and Sophomores are highly encouraged to apply. Primary Responsibilities * Assists the Financial Aid & Scholarships Manager, Supervisor and Counselors with a wide range of complex secretarial, electrical, and receptionist duties while maintaining the ability to execute tasks and day-to-day activities. * Responds promptly to inquiries regarding financial aid-related questions with prospective students, parents, and international facilitators. * Ensures that policies and procedures are up to date and accessible in the Financial Aid online knowledge base utilizing web and scripting language skills. * Assists with orientation and training of student associates and ensures that they understand and are aware of departmental policies and procedures. * Assists in developing motivational programs for student employees to measure and improve department morale. * Prepares and maintains confidential and sensitive documents. This includes concealing all sensitive documents and always locking the computer when not at the desk. * Provides department support to perform special projects and maintain database when directed. * Maintains a professional image, casual/professional attire, by dressing in standards. No t-shirt with inappropriate advertising, holes, cut collars, shorts or cut-off jeans, rubber slippers or flip flops. * Always maintains a clean workspace and ensures that at the end of the shift the workspace is in order by cleaning individual areas and front desk, closing the filing room door and log off all computers. No eating at the desk. A closed water bottle or drink is allowed. * Reports for their work shift on time, works their allotted hours, and coordinates time-off requests ahead of time with the exception for unforeseen emergencies. * Must work only during scheduled hours unless approved by supervisor. * Checks with a Financial Aid Staff member for projects when there is downtime. No social media, homework, online browsing, or personal work is allowed. * Performs other tasks as assigned. Education High School Work Experience 3 Months of General Work Experience Physical Demands Typical office environment Base Rate Per Hour: 14.00
