Raytheon Technologies (RTX) in Tewksbury Massachusetts is seeking a Software Engineering intern to join our distinguished team to support development, implementation, deployment and maintenance of state-of-the-art systems for unique customer missions. These systems will collect, process and disseminate intelligence and other data about specific areas/targets of interest in support of our national defense. Candidates will be supporting a distributed automated platform for compute, network and storage infrastructure by providing custom automation services for feature deployment in a large high performance environment leveraging both cloud and traditional data center technologies. This position is an onsite role. Key responsibilities for the qualified candidate include: * Support infrastructure/DevOps build and automation activities utilizing programming/scripting skills (Ruby, Python, Go, PowerShell, and Java) and continuous integration / continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. * Provide basic support in the development, documentation and maintenance/management of operations concepts, requirements (system, element, segment, or subsystem level), external and internal interfaces, and other systems engineering work products/artifacts * Integrate multiple software and hardware subsystems * Apply technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques to solve problems This position can be a technical intern based on the candidate's classification as determined by grad year on resume and provided via questionnaire by candidate as outlined below: * (Sophomore Technical) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program * (Junior Technical) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program * (Senior Technical) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program * (Post-Graduate Technical) must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a graduate degree program (in degree fields listed in Qualifications You Must Have) by start of internship Basic Qualifications: * Must be Sophomore, Junior, Senior or Post Graduate by the start of summer 2024 in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field * Experience with programming concepts and development/scripting skills such as: Ruby, Python, Go, PowerShell OR Java * The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. * U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance Preferred Qualifications: * Experience with Linux or Windows Operating Systems and working with the Command Line Interface (CLI * Experience with modernization technologies such as: Kubernetes, Docker, Rancher, AWS, Azure * Experience with Cloud APIs - AWS, Rackspace, Openstack * Experience with Chef Configuration Management tool * Understanding or knowledge of DevOps processes. * Exposure of integration of software and hardware subsystems such as: Networks, Data Storage. * Exposure to security engineering concepts and practices * Exposure to the software development life cycle * A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is desired. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
