Salary Information Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade. \nA starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and MCCP Board Rules & Regulations \n Nature of Work The\nfundamental reason this class exists is to manage the License and Revenue Division\nwithin the City's Finance Department. The Revenue Manager is responsible for\nthe administration and overall performance of the division which includes\nAuditors, Compliance Officers, Examiners, and Account Clerks. Major\ninteractions occur with taxpayers, business owners, accountants, attorneys, and\nmunicipal and state officials. The major functions of the position include\noverseeing the collection of City taxes, overseeing the issuance of business\nlicenses, managing the License and Revenue Division, supervising the division's\npersonnel, and performs various other administrative duties. The Revenue Manager\nmust exercise considerable independent judgment and initiative in the\ninterpretation of City ordinances and state and federal laws pertaining to\nmunicipal taxes and business licensing. Work is performed under the general\ndirection of the City's Finance Director.\n Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's\ndegree with major course work in accounting and five (5) years of experience in\nrevenue collections management, the supervision of revenue collections, or\nauditing for revenue collections which includes lead worker or supervisory\nexperience.\n\n\nNOTE:� Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.\n\n\n Kind of Examination Applications are being accepted to fill�one (1) vacancy and any other vacancies that may occur during the life of the register.� The current vacancy�is with the�City of�Montgomery Finance Department.�Applicants will be screened and qualified based upon education and experience as shown on the application and supplemental questionnaire.� For this reason, applicants are urged to fill in the application and supplemental questionnaire�form completely providing detailed information concerning the kinds of jobs they have held, the dates they held them, where and exactly what their duties were.
