Job Summary and Qualifications Coordinates customer registration with registrar. Documents customer registration time and registrar that assists customer. Directs customer to appropriate department and finds transportation to department if customer needs assistance. Communicates delays with customer. Communicates delays or any relevant information to departments. Makes scheduled visits to ancillary departments to ensure further customer satisfaction. Places and maintains Admissions tracker. Responsible for mailing checks for the facility. Participates in providing patient specific care standards as directed, and follows service excellence standards to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction. * Provides assistance, guidance and direction to patients, visitors and physicians. * Greets patients, physicians and visitors in a professional manner using AIDET * Assures that patients are tended to by informing specific departments of their arrival. * Enter patient onto Meditech tracker. * Prepares patient so that exams can be completed by other staff members. * Provides support to clerical positions and performs clerical functions when necessary. * Assists physician/staff * Provides back-up when needed to registration * Answers all incoming phone calls in a courteous and professional manner * Distributes phone calls as necessary * Takes messages accurately and distributes as required * Faxes reports when requested * Employee's conduct must reflect the Company's values and a commitment to the Code of Conduct ethics and compliance program. * Coordinates customer registration accurately within fifteen (15) minutes. * Interviews patients and/or relative for relevant customer information to assist in destination of customer. * Monitors customer visit, by coordinating customer arrival to department is timely. Once customer is in department, informs appropriate staff of patient's arrival. * Makes appropriate documentation in associated charting systems * Escorts patients to appropriate waiting areas. * Maintains a thorough knowledge of hospital computer system. * Chaperones patients when necessary * Logs in to ED and PACS systems * Maintains patient logs * Submits necessary reports to patient Medical Record. * Scanning of documentation to electronic file. * Maintains files for North Austin Maternal Fetal Medicine * Ensures the lobby is stocked with snacks, magazines, and kept neat and tidy. * Assists children in the room when necessary * Schedules follow up appointments * Employee's conduct must reflect the Company's values and a commitment to the Code of Conduct ethics and compliance program. * Employee reflects SDH Service Excellence standards in every interaction. * Other duties as assigned. Required: High school diploma or equivalent OR proof of enrollment in or graduate of accredited university. Preferred: Computer skills. Previous clerical experience in the hospital, front office, or medical billing office; knowledge of medical terminology.
