Market Range: 08 Hiring Salary: $22.83 - $26.96/Hourly JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Financial Coordinator provides support to all Departments and Colleges serviced by the Executive Vice Chancellor's Central Business Office. This includes but is not limited to the processing and or approving of all financial documents and maintaining source documents. This position works in conjunction with the Executive Director - EVC Business Office and other staff to maintain a filing system for all documents as required by UT policy, HSC procedures, and audit and compliance best practices. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Completes monthly reconciliation of the department's financial records with the Department Ledger Report. * Collaborates with the Purchasing Department to ensure the appropriate specifications are developed for goods and services to be bid. * Monitors the use of the Procurement Card to ensure it is only used for official UT business purposes and Tennessee sales tax is not charged on purchases. * Ensures original receipts are obtained from vendors and retained to support purchases with the card. * Ensures cardholders and verifiers sign the monthly statements. * Retains reconciled statements and supporting documents for six years. * Determines if all travel is justifiable before approving the travel or reimbursement of expenses. * Drafts, enters, and submits contracts through the review and approval process. * Reviews and approves timesheets and invoices after entry. * Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in administration, accounting, management, organizational management, or related field. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED) EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of experience in accounting, administrative work, or human resources; OR a combination of education and relevant work experience to equal five (5) years. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: * Knowledge of a range of automated financial systems and applications software. * Ability to provide technical guidance and leadership to professional personnel in area of expertise. * Knowledge of Federal and State financial regulations. * Knowledge of the principles, processes, and standards for integrated financial analysis and reporting as related to a public institution. * Skill in examining operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures. * Ability to compile, analyze, interpret, and present complex annual financial reports, statements, and/or projections. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. WORK SCHEDULE: This position may occasionally be required to work evenings.
