STAR Program Administrative Intern 2024-25 POSITION SUMMARY: The STAR program at the Lafayette School provides a safe, inclusive community for over 50 5th- 8th grade youth to learn new skills, make new friends, and have fun in a supportive environment. The program offers a variety of enrichment activities that include art, athletics, STEM and more guided by student interest. The goal for students who participate is to experience personal growth, build positive relationships, discover new talents and shine like the stars they are. The Administrative Intern will be responsible for supporting the Site Coordinator with administrative tasks, including but not limited to - preparing attendance reports, organizing field trips and events, managing supplies and materials, and coordinating family events. WORKING TIMES: 2:30-5:00 2x/week for the following program dates: Fall Session: October 7- December 13th - 36 days (skipping Oct 14, Nov 27, Nov 28th - field trip on 12/13) - total 90 hours Winter Session: January 6th- March 20th - 40 days (skipping MLK day, Feb 17-20, field trip 3/20) - total 100 hours Spring Session: March 31st-June 6th - 36 days (skipping Memorial day, April 21-25, field trip 6/6) - total 90 hours REMUNERATION: $20/hour for up to 150 hours, total stipend of $3000. Option to renew for summer program if performance is satisfactory. NUMBER OF POSITIONS: 1 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ? Support Site Coordinator with administrative tasks, including program documentation, communication with families, attendance tracking, grant-related data collection and reporting, and other tasks as assigned by the Site Coordinator ? Ensure all students, regardless of English language proficiency, physical ability, learning profile, etc. are able to safely and effectively participate in all programmatic activities ? Support with regular program evaluation and data collection and reporting as required by the 21st Century Grant ? Incorporate Social Emotional Learning standards that promote self-confidence, team-building and informed decision making ? Support with planning and implementation of field trips and community events, including family engagement events and showcases ? Support with other requirements as outlined by the 21st Century Grant as needed or requested by the Manager of Extended Learning, Site Coordinator, or building leader REQUIREMENTS: ? At least 1 year previous experience working with youth or in a youth serving organization in some capacity ? Strong verbal and written communication skills ? Proficiency with MS Office and Google Suite tools ? Current EPS student in good academic standing PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS: ? Multilingual capacity strongly preferred ? Current EPS Education Pathway and/or CTE student in a relevant field ? Previous leadership experience in a relevant field INTERESTED CANDIDATES should apply on TalentEd by September 3rd, 2024.
