The Department is seeking someone who likes to help others succeed to fill an open Compliance Consultant position. Under direction of the Compliance Team Manager, the Compliance Consultant assists in the implementation of the Department's compliance and monitoring efforts for various state and federally funded programs administered by the Department. This position will support the ongoing compliance reviews, monitoring, and reporting necessary for the successful administration of the programs. Apply to join our team today! Job Duties: Conduct internal and external monitoring activities as instructed related to the state and federal programs administered by the Department. Respond to questions and review documentation as part of monitoring activities. Review statistical. financial, or operational information to ensure that programs and projects comply with statutory and regulatory requirements. Conduct pre-monitoring research and communications. Educate clients regarding applicable statutes and regulations. Compile data and information from monitoring activities. Write various documents including correspondence, work papers, and monitoring reports. Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the classification. Requirements / Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in any discipline related to the work assigned and two years of related experience. Experience may substitute for education on a year for year basis. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with grant programs as an employee of a state/federal agency, political subdivision, or organization which regularly participated in federal or state grant award administration. And experience working with affordable housing. Other: Regular and Reliable attendance is required. This position requires travel. As such, the incumbent must be able to present a valid driver's license or another form of reliable transportation. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Professional demeanor and mindset. Highly organized. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong oral and written communication skills. Time management skills. Attention to detail. Strong Microsoft Office skills. Knowledge of accounting, auditing, or grant management procedures a plus. Ability to translate technical issues and complex ideas into understandable information for communication to both individuals and groups. Ability to persuading others to adopt proper procedures. Ability to communicate with diverse audiences.
