This position will also enter data and run laboratory reports, perform Necropsy, gross Pathology and collect appropriate samples. Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks * Sample preparation for bacterial and viral cultures * Plate bacterial cultures on appropriate media * Perform antibiotic sensitivity testing * Prepare media (BHI Broth, Semen Extender, Plated and Tubed Bacterial) * Computer entry of data and laboratory results * Generate laboratory reports * Perform necropsies and fecal examinations * Other laboratory duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Sterile Technique * Ability to learn laboratory procedures * Operation of laboratory equipment * Data collection techniques and terminology * Computer skills, including Microsoft Office * Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions Education and Experience Degree in Biology, Microbiology, Poultry Science, Animal Science or related degree program or related work experience. Previous Animal Diagnostic Laboratory Experience Work Environment/Physical Requirements Physical Demands * Ability to lift at least 50 pounds * Ability to stand for long periods * Moderate cleaning is required Work Environment * Casual environment requiring comfortable attire for working with animals.
