The work involves GIS database design, end-user support, application development, user interface development, and software links between GIS, asset management systems, and other application software.  The work is performed under the general supervision of a program manager and is reviewed by observation, conferences, and written reports.   The work involves complex GIS processing and analysis functions. GIS data input, maintenance and information retrieval from GIS data sources would be routine. Employees in this classification would be expected to prepare reports and analyze data; coordinate updates and changes to shared GIS data; and apply quality control procedures to ensure database accuracy.   For a full description of this position, please see the class specification on the City's website. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS * A Bachelor's degree in GIS, geography, computer science or related field AND three (3) years full time professional-level experience in developing and implementing automated geographic information systems; OR * Any equivalent combination of education and professional-level experience in developing and implementing automated geographic information systems sufficient to provide the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities.  * Work experience may be substituted for the required education or training, on a year-year (1-year) basis, not to exceed two (2) years.
