We are seeking stellar college students with a keen interest in physics or astronomy to join our Science Learning Center team as a student course mentor/tutor. In this role, you will play a crucial part in fostering a collaborative learning environment and supporting fellow students on their academic journey. This is a Non-Federal Work Study student worker position.Key Responsibilities: * Conduct one-on-one and group tutoring sessions for physics or astronomy courses. * Foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere conducive to academic success. * Assist students in understanding complex concepts through engaging and interactive methods. * Collaborate with faculty and fellow Learning Coaches to enhance the overall learning experience. * Provide constructive feedback to students, empowering them to overcome challenges and excel. * Stay updated on course content and instructional methods to ensure effective support.Qualifications: * Enthusiasm for physics or astronomy and a strong understanding of related coursework. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and accessible manner. * Strong organizational and time management skills. * Prior tutoring or teaching experience is a plus, but not required. * Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
