Job Title CSWS North Pole Studio Assistant Department Moreau Center Terms and Hours 10-15 hrs/week Job Category Student Employment Hourly Wage $0.75 above Portland Metro Minimum Wage ($16.70/hour) Job Summary This is a Community Service Work Study student employment position. Applicants must have Federal Work Study funds in their Financial Aid package. North Pole Studio is a progressive art studio supporting artists with disabilities in their professional arts careers. The CSWS Studio Assistant will assist in both our educational program and studio program. Class support entails providing both group and one-on-one support to artists as they learn and explore art skills in a workshop setting. Studio program support involves supporting artists to work on their creative projects independently. Location: 2516 NW 29th #8, Portland, OR 97210 Core Duties Assist in Studio Art classes Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. * Support artists one-on-one during art making time, help with materials prep and distribution, assist with cleaning materials and studio. * Assist during studio program hours Tuesdays and/or Fridays * Transitioning artists to and from transportation * Supporting artists with creative problem-solving * Providing artists with critique and feedback * Help with organizing and cleaning studio supplies Minimum Qualifications * Must have Federal Work Study fund in Financial Aid Package (contact finaid@up.edu with questions) * Available for class times on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. Mondays 3:00-5:00, Tuesdays 10 - 3 or Fridays 10-3, Wednesdays 3:00-5:00 and Saturdays 9:30 - 12:30. Preferred Qualifications * Experience of active practice in Art, Design, or Art Education * Experience working with individuals with autism and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities * Experience with individuals who utilize diverse communication methods Physical Requirements * Lifting and carrying typical art supplies (10-15 lbs) * Studio is ADA accessible Posting Detail Information Posting Number SE351-2023 Number of Vacancies 1 Estimated Start Date 08/19/2024 Open Date 07/08/2024 Close Date 11/29/2024
