W.A.Y.S Professional Tutor (PT) Salary Schedule Placement:  L1-LSLRY $14,820 Commensurate with education and experience according to Salary Schedule L1. This position is a Title III Grant funded Non-Tenure Track position. Non-Probationary status cannot be obtained. Continued employment is contingent upon grant funding. More than one position in the same job classification may be filled from the applicants for this position should another vacancy occur during the search process.  In addition to adhering to the general guidelines as specified by the Faculty/Staff Handbook, the Dean of Instruction, the President, and the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees, responsibilities include the following: * Provide one-on-one or group tutoring sessions to students in assigned subjects, * Assess students' academic needs and develop personalized tutoring plans to address areas of difficulty, * Explain complex concepts in a clear and understandable manner, using effective teaching strategies, * Assist students with homework assignments, projects, and exam preparation, * Help students develop effective study skills, time management techniques, and organizational strategies, * Monitor students' progress and adjust tutoring strategies as needed to ensure improvement, * Communicate regularly with students, parents, and teachers to provide updates on progress and discuss areas for improvement, * Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions, including student attendance and academic achievements, * Stay informed about current educational trends, teaching methodologies, and curriculum requirements, * Participate in training sessions and professional development activities to enhance tutoring skills and knowledge. Required Qualifications: * A Bachelor's Degree in Education, Math, Science, English, or related field, * A minimum of one-year teaching or tutoring experience, preferably in a K-12 or college setting, * Strong understanding of subject matter and ability to explain concepts effectively, * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, * Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed, * Ability to adapt tutoring strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, * Proficiency in using technology and educational tools for tutoring purposes, * Reliable and punctual with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality, * Ability to work flexible hours, including evening and weekends, to accommodate students' schedules. Preferred Qualifications: * Master's degree in Education or a related field, * Certification in tutoring or teaching, * Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and learning abilities.
