Job ID: 39128 | Location: Louisville, Kentucky, USA In this role the Reliability Chemist will be analyzing chemical related failure trends, execute projects, maintain and track KPIs, improve efficiency, and solve problems. The employee will be responsible for activities to improve and sustain the quality of data reported by the QC department. This role will support our Catalyst Business Unit in Louisville, KY at our West Plant. Responsibilities * Proactively contributes to the safety culture and regularly reports opportunities for improvement. * Able to work with a broad range of instrument methods and equipment to ensure accuracy of testing. * Perform method evaluation and development, while validating data via gage studies. * Author standard operating procedures, analytical testing procedures, and create document templates. * Maintains equipment and initiates preventative maintenance and calibrations of laboratory equipment. * Able to troubleshoot minor instrument/ equipment repairs and improvement processes. * Familiar with operating Camsizer X2 and P4, Gemini VII, Zwick, XRF, AA, and other analytical lab equipment. * Support the Suspect QC Result Process, XRF Reference Program, Equipment Breakdown Process and other Process Projects to drive improved efficiencies within the Quality Department. * Takes responsibility for sustaining of 5S in his/her work area. * Makes significant technical contributions. Requirements * Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field is required. * 1-3 years of experience in a laboratory setting or through internships is required. * Proficiency with Minitab Software, particularly with Gage studies and Capability Analysis, is advantageous. * Experience with SAP is a plus. * The ability to respond and adapt to changing priorities is essential. * The role demands involvement in numerous projects, necessitating effective time management skills. * Collaboration with various departments within the company requires excellent communication skills. * Strong problem-solving abilities, adaptability, time management, and a keen awareness of safety are imperative.
