We welcome candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of our academic community. Description JOB DESCRIPTION: * Collaborates with Michael C. Carlos Museum staff and outside contractors during installation of permanent collections, temporary installations, and traveling exhibitions; prepares spaces and art in advance of installing exhibitions. * Installs 2D and 3D works of art, moving of display needs, organization, and preparation of exhibitions. Constructs temporary display walls and maintains gallery finishes for exhibitions. * Maintains permanent gallery displays; cleans gallery and architecture. * Keeps inventory of all paint used in exhibitions and museum. * Replaces and maintains gallery lighting and inventory. * Assists in the organization and maintenance of in-house art storage areas, displays storage and offsite art storage areas. * Helps to relocate crates, display materials and assists with art transport to and from the museum. Assists in pulling works of art for classes, events, and temporary displays; supervises collection during session as needed. * Maintains frame inventory and framing supplies; frames works of art for temporary exhibitions. Liaison to campus for digital technologies in the galleries and exhibitions, assists in production of QR codes, digital displays, maintenance, and keeping inventory of hardware. * Assists in the processing, production, and installation of labels, graphics, public spaces signage, and exterior banners. * Provides additional assistance to Couriers, Registrars, Conservation, Development and Security Departments as needed. * Serves as liaison to Education, Conservation and Registration departments for small projects. Confirms schedules and estimates from outside vendors. * Responsible for general servicing of the museum vehicle. * Performs other related duties as required MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * A high school diploma and three years of experience of exhibition installation, art handling, construction, carpentry, and graphics OR an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training. * A valid Georgia driver's license and an insurable driving record. * Positions within this classification may require the ability to bend, stoop, and twist and/or lift 40-50 pounds. NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion.
