OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY Fox TV Stations FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network's national content. JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Executive Producer FOX6 is on the hunt for a visionary with a passion for journalism to oversee our nightly newscasts. The ideal candidate knows how to showcase the day's top story, develop story ideas, respond to breaking news, weather, and sports - and oh yeah….be a great people person! RESPONSIBILITIES: This isn't just any role. You're the maestro, the one at the heart of our FOX6 nightside team, boosting the morale and direction of our newsroom. This position oversees the creation of show rundowns, participates in story selection and oversees content. Do you know a great newscast with graphics and pacing when you see one? If so, you are who we are looking for. You will become a member of the FOX6 news management team and will develop and implement strategic goals in concert. The executive producer also ensures reporters and photojournalists in the field meet newsroom standards for fairness, accuracy, ethics and presentation. Prior newsroom management experience and a college degree in journalism or related field is a necessity! Must have knowledge and proficiency in newsroom systems. Must have experience and strong skillset in social media. Strong oral and written communication skills a must. Must be knowledgeable of legal and ethical parameters for mass media.
