Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Aide to join our Athletics Physical Therapy team. The Physical Therapy Aide will support the Athletics Physical Therapist in providing high-quality care to patients undergoing physical rehabilitation. This role involves assisting with patient care, maintaining a clean and organized therapy environment, and performing administrative tasks as needed. Key Responsibilities: * Patient Assistance: * Assist physical therapists in preparing patients for therapy sessions. * Help patients with exercises and mobility tasks, ensuring correct form and technique. * Provide support and encouragement to patients throughout their rehabilitation process. * Facility Maintenance: * Ensure therapy equipment and facilities are clean, organized, and well-maintained. * Prepare and set up therapy equipment and supplies for each session. * Disinfect equipment and treatment areas according to established protocols. * Administrative Duties: * Schedule patient appointments and manage patient records as needed. * Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries in a professional manner. * Assist with filing, data entry, and other clerical tasks as needed. * Communication and Teamwork: * Communicate effectively with patient and healthcare team members. * Report any patient concerns or changes in condition to the physical therapist and Director of Sports Medicine * Collaborate with team members to ensure optimal patient care and clinic efficiency. Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in a health-related field is a plus. * Previous experience in a healthcare or therapy setting is preferred but not required. * Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with patients and team members. * Basic knowledge of anatomy, physical therapy techniques, and medical terminology is a plus. * Proficiency in using office software and equipment. Physical Requirements: * Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical activities for extended periods. * Capability to lift and carry up to [weight, e.g., 50 lbs] and assist with patient mobility. Work Environment: * This position involves working in a clinical setting with exposure to patients undergoing physical rehabilitation. * The role requires adherence to safety and infection control procedures. Qualifications * Open to all levels of Pacific University students * Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace. * Able to manage and maintain sensitive and confidential information, ensuring it is handled securely and in compliance with HIPAA regulations and Pacific University's policies and procedures. * Possesses good oral and written communication skills, and excellent customer service skills including the ability to work with diverse populations of students, staff, faculty, and community members. * Self-motivated * Willing to ask questions.
